Contenu
This course, taking Sir Gawain and the Green Knight as its central text, will examine the role played by Sir Gawain in the English medieval literary tradition. Supplementary texts will include Lawman's Brut, a legendary history of Britain, and Malory's Morte Darthur, as we trace the evolution of Gawain's characterisation from the twelfth century to the fifteenth century.
