The aims of this course are to acquaint students with the Old English language and literature. After spending a few sessions on the study of Anglo-Saxon culture and Old English grammar, students will familiarize themselves with the Old English language by offering translations of prose and verse texts. Following presentations of their translation, students will offer thematic discussions of the extracts under consideration.
