Contenu
ILA is a compulsory year-long course which introduces students to methods of close reading and explores basic literary issues. The course aims to make students familiar with key approaches, aspects, problems and concepts in the analysis of literary texts. The main emphasis is on the close reading of poems and short prose texts in the Autumn semester. In the Spring semester, the focus is on drama and longer prose texts. ILA is part of a module which also includes the English Literature Survey (10 credits). This module prepares first-year BA students for more advanced literary seminars.
