Objectif

Tutorial in the thematic field "Cancer and Immunology". Immune homeostasis is tightly regulated by a complex interplay between distinct effector and regulatory mechanisms. This course focuses on the characterization of immune cell subsets, their role in normal adaptive immune responses as well as in the context of immune pathologies (autoimmunity, chronic infections, cancer patients, graft rejection)

Contenu

- Mechanisms of immune tolerance to self-antigens
- Control of adaptive immune responses to non-self-antigens in the context of diseases (infections, tumours, transplantation).
To understand
1. how the immune response is normally regulated to avoid damage to the host
2. how immune responses can be augmented (against tumors, infections) or restrained
