Objectif
Introduction to Literary Analysis (ILA) is a compulsory course designed to develop skills related to the critical analysis of literary texts in English. You will be introduced to important genres and authors in English and American literature, basic concepts of literary analysis, and will be encouraged to develop your own critical interpretations of the works we read.
Contenu
The autumn semester will be mainly based on poetry, and in the spring semester we will look at prose and drama.

SPRING
Drama: Tom Stoppard's 'Arcadia'
Evaluation
BA 2005 : The validation of this class (part of a 10-credit module with ELS, the English Literature Survey) is based on three essays (plus rewrites if necessary) and class participation.
BA 2013 : validation continue notée.
