Objective

Synthetic Biology is an emerging interdisciplinary field combining biology and engineering to improve our understanding of biological systems and to create useful tools to solve everyday problems. During this tutorial you will get an insight into this exciting new research field.

Content

One or two synthetic biology papers will be discussed at each meeting. The papers will cover a wide range of research in synthetic biology (e.g. minimal cell, refactoring, synthetic gene regulatory networks, metabolic pathway engineering, non-natural amino acids, bioreporters, genome recoding etc). All participants are expected to have read the papers, and participate in the discussion.
