Subject of celebration and revival, the 1980s are perhaps the last real decade of the 20th century, with a distinct identity; homogeneous and bearing meanings. At the source of the 21st century, this period also represents more specifically "this eternal present" in which Western societies still have the impression of living today: starting point for some of a "great leap backwards". Often described as "cursed," the 1980s are haunted by the sense of decadence, end, disaster. A "crisis culture" that develops in a period seen in many ways as a turning point, a break, marking lastingly a cultural and political generation for which the generalized "get rich", the triumph of individualism and antipolitics remain the focal points of a new way of being in the world and figuring out life in society.
This seminar will address the multiple facets of these years full of contradictions according to the contributions of the social, political and cultural history, to historical anthropology, sociology and social psychology.

This seminar will take place at a rate of 4 hours / week on Thursday from 8 am to 10:00 and 13:00 to 15:00.
