Objective

Critical reading of recent publications related to the genesis of the alpine orogen and oral presentation in front of the students.

Content

Courses and seminars on various topics of Alpine Geology

Variscan orogeny
Lower Penninic and the Adula nappe;
Relics of Mesozoic rifting in the Alps;
Plate tectonics in the Alpine context;
HP metamorphism in the Alps.

List of scientific papers related to the different themes is distributed at the beginning of the course

Evaluation

Seminars (oral presentation by students) on scientific papers in relation with the course topics.

Bibliography

Liste des articles scientifiques en relation avec les différents thèmes est distribuées au début du cours.
