Objective
Present the historical, epistemological and theoritical foundations of the various trends in health psychology
Content
Health psychology main goals will be to promote health, to prevent illness and to help patients. Its theories and models must take into account the bio-psycho-social interation that is always present in health and illness processes.
We will study :
- major trends that contribuate to the development of the bio-psycho-social models and their history
- new models and the integrative perspective from a "critical" psychology standpoint, that studies complex models and the evolution of processes during life (culture, context, life crises, etc.)
- the requierements for a clinical study of subjects in concrete situations from a phenomenological perspective, underlining the importance of the subjective theories of illness
- corporal-socio-psychological model that highlinghts the links between emotions and mental activity in the health field...
