Objective

Understanding the principles of plate tectonics and continental tectonics, and the physical processes that control tectonic deformations.
Understanding the concepts of stress, strain and rheology.
Understanding how rocks deform and how to quantify this deformation.
Ability to apply quantitative methods in tectonics and geodynamics.

Basic knowledge of geology (cours d'introduction aux sciences de la Terre).
