Content

This lecture will discuss the different ways of psychologically evaluating children: clinical interview with the child and the parents; testing (development assessment, learning potential assessment); questionnaires (self- and hetero-reported, administered in an interview), direct observation (with the distinction between diagnostic concepts and observable indicators)... The interpersonal stakes of the assessment will be discussed: welcoming the family and the child, the setting of the evaluation, leading the interview (basic variables, specifics of the work with children's and teenagers' families), and returning the result/diagnosis.
