Objective
Knowledge and comprehension
Practical knowledge in the field of microtraces, allowing to put into practice a complete laboratory procedure including their detection, characterization, comparison and analyse.
Knowledge of the various techniques/procedures used in function of the trace evidence type (advantages and limitations).
Intellectual ability
Choice of a laboratory strategy (analytical sequence) adapted to the trace evidence type and to the circumstances.
Specific interpretation of a microtraces case. Discussion and evaluation of the parameters given the case circumstances. Evaluation of the case based on a Bayesian reasoning.
Content
Practical demonstrations (based on fictious cases) of the phases of search and recovery, optical and analytical methods and their utilization in sequence.
Cases examples relating to the pre-evaluation, discussion and interpretation of expert report.
Practical work in the form of continuous exercices and casus in parallel to the demonstrations
