The course is the second part of "Systèmes territoriaux I" course. Object of analysis is Switzerland and the scale of analysis is the regional scale.

Switzerland can be represented as a territorial system. That requires a positioning of analysis within the natural environment on the one hand; to identify its levels of geographical organisation, centres of activity, networks and spatial organisation on the other. After a general introduction, the module addresses first the principle geographical issues for Alpine Switzerland and secondly the study of the structure and dynamics of Swiss towns and metropolitan areas.
