Objective

Ecotoxicology is a relatively young science that aims in studying the behavior and the effects of pollutants in the environment in order to predict their impact on ecosystems. The course aims in introducing the basic concepts in ecotoxicology and the different tools used in ecotoxicological assessment of pollutants . The last part of the course will be dedicated to assessments of actual impacts, either the risk analysis and biomonitoring.

Historical pollutions
Fate and behaviour of pollutants
Ecotoxicological tests: aquatic tests, tests on sediment and on soil
Statistical interpretation of tests
Use of databases
Risk assessment of pollutants
Effect assessment of mixture
