Clinical research on severely injured patients

We are studying various aspects of the clinical management of severely injured patients admitted to Lausanne University Hospital. In our trauma registry, which contains over 3,500 observations from 2008 to the present day, we have data from the entire care chain, from the scene of the accident to the patient's return home:

- Pre- and in-hospital clinical documentation (vital parameters, scores, accident circumstances, chronological information)
- Demographic information
- Diagnostic radiological examinations
- Laboratory tests
- Medical and surgical treatments

This makes it possible to analyze performance indicators, morbidity and mortality of polytrauma patients in general and by type of trauma during their care. Performance indicators include, for example, 48-hour mortality, time from patient arrival to: chest/pelvis X-ray, CT scan, operating room, interventional radiology suite.
